Job Title: SOC Field Application Engineer

Overview:

Samsung Semiconductor Inc. is looking for an experienced Application Engineer with strong background and hands-on experience on SOC and platform area for smartphone, wearable, AI other portable consumer electronics. This position works in all phases of a product cycle from supporting early marketing, technical documentation, system design and integration, test, and working with customers to solve production issues. This individual will also work closely with cross function teams in Samsung USA and Korea, including marketing, SOC IP, hardware /system design teams, SW teams, and application engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with customers, technical marketing teams and design teams to define, develop and evaluate new standard and custom products
• Work on system level design, requirements
• Create customer collateral and application notes
• Support customers design-in activities
• Provide advice and training to the customer on IP applicability to meet requirements
• Maintain knowledge of industry standard ASIC/SoC methodologies and protocols

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience in designing SOC in the platform for consumer devices including smartphones
• Knowledge in RF front end for LTE and 5G, connectivity, power management topologies, low, high speed I/Os, peripheral components such as LCD, sensors, storage etc.
• Knowledge of AI topologies and applications
• Embedded software experience with emphasis on Android and lynx
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers to solve issues for complete solutions maximizing SLSI’s components
• Support customers to debug SOC and platform issues
• Ability to advocate for customer needs (with an understanding of “why”) and guide SLSI’s SOC product groups
• Proficiency in using software tools and systems.
• Good written and verbal communications skills, and work effectively across multiple regions
• Travel locally and internationally (20%)
• BS (with 5+ years) ) Electrical / Electronics and Communication Engineering

Preferred Skills:

• MS (with 3+ years) Electrical / Electronics and Communication Engineering
