OVERVIEW & IMPACT

Based in San Jose, California, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. The Principal Legal Counsel will be on the IP Team and handle all semiconductor business related IP matters including patent litigation, negotiation, contract, and prosecution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing patent litigation matters, driving strategy with outside counsel and partnering with key internal clients
• Participating in key litigation proceedings, including depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials
• Providing expert counsel on all patent litigation and related issues
• Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements
• Reporting on a broad range of patent litigation issue
• Work collaboratively as part of the team to make litigation strategy with the HQ's IP team and outside counsels
• Collaborating across the broader Legal team to address IP issues in agreements and disputes
• Managed law firms to improve quality and save litigation cost.
• Handled litigation proceedings in the United States

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Juris Doctor ( J.D.) degree from a top tier American Bar Association accredited law school
• BS degree in engineering or physics
• Member in good standing of the California Bar
• Passed the USPTO bar
• 7+ years of major law firm and/or in-house patent litigation experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills
• Ability to convey and discuss intellectual property issues in understandable terms
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively multiple projects simultaneously

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Significant knowledge of semiconductor circuits, semiconductor manufacturing processes and circuits
