Software Application/Tools Engineer Intern

Summer 2021 internship applications are open September 2020.  Samsung Semiconductor summer internships start in May/June 2021.

You’ll work with the teams that create new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, internet of things (IoT) and edge computing that benefit millions of users.  This program will give you the opportunity work on complex solutions to that address some of the world’s most complex technological challenges.


Based in San Jose, California, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is searching for smart and talented Application/Tools software engineering students. Candidate will be part of passionate R&D team with other software and firmware engineers and will participate in the design, development of cross-platform software application and their components for developing next generation 5G products. You will have great mentors helping you along during the progress of your internship

You will be a part of a product development effort, and will follow a design architecture, and work with other systems engineers, and developers to add features to design and implement solutions, and debug in order to deliver a very high quality software application.


  • Design, implement and validate a C# software application
  • Work closely with firmware and software engineers to add features to an application that meets design requirements.
  • Design, develop, migrate and evaluate new & existing libraries for products and tools.(.NET standard vs Core)
  • Develop efficient, scalable software feature that meets complex requirements.
  • Work with software development team on feature testing and integration.


  • Good knowledge of C# programming language and knowledge of LINQ.
  • Good knowledge of SOLID principles in programming.
  • Good knowledge of cross platform programming, OOP/OOA concepts and best coding practices.
  • Development experience developing GUI applications for Windows.
  • Experience with Git and source management, Experience with Azure tools.
  • Experience in interfacing with various interfaces such as UART, USB, or external peripherals.
  • Motivated personality to quickly learn and work with new wireless technologies.
  • Desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prove to be performance driven and having a proactive attitude.
  • Passion for tool development -- enabling others to have the best tools available.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is a must, Masters’ Degree is preferred.
