Job Title: Sr ASIC SoC Architect Chip Lead

 

Overview:

High performance computing and networking have been going through rapid transformation due to the explosive growth in cloud datacenter and automotive electronics. This growth has been driving increasing needs for innovative and integrated SoC Design services and solutions. Samsung Foundry is expanding SoC Design Engineering to support this need in North America.

 

Job Responsibilities:

High performance computing and networkng have been going through rapid transformation due to the explosive growth in cloud datacenter and automotive electronics. This growth has been driving increasing needs for innovative and integrated ASIC services and solutions. Samsung Foundry is expanding ASIC Engineering to support this needs in North America. 

This position will be responsible for block level, top level specification, design, RTL development and implementation of SoC using NoC interconnect. This person will closely work with design and performance verification teams, physical design, IP teams to make sure SoC meets all requirements.

 

  • Architecture, Micro architecture, Digital Design , RTL Coding
  • NoC exploration, Synthesis
  • Customer, vendor interactions
  • Samsung physical design methodology support for ASIC customers

 

The successful candidate is expected to have

  • Solid experience in interconnect protocols like AHB/AXI/ACE/ACE-Lite/NoC
  • Solid experience in HBM2, GDDR5/6, LPDDR4 protocols as well as familiarity with cache interfaces/protocols
  • Solid experience in RTL coding , Soc Digital Design.
  • Solid experience in ARM architecture, coherency protocols and virtualization
  • Solid experience in design convergence cycle involving architecture, micro architecture, synthesis, DFT, timing closure and verification
  • Solid experience in power aware RTL coding / design knowledge

 

Required Skills:

  • BS or BE
  • Minimum 10 years of direct experience in ASIC or chip design, with significant hands on experience in Architecture, Microarchitecture, RTL coding, protocols like AHB/AXI/ACE/ACE-Lite/NoC, HBM2, GDDR5/6, LPDDR4 in large complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge in synthesis and design cycle.
  • Comfortable working with and managing 3rd party teams.
  • Highly passionate and energetic. Excellent communication skills.
  • Scripting languages (tcl, perl, python), Documents(Word processing, Power Points), Spreadsheet, email;
  • Frequent customer and partner visits. Domestic and international travel.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • MS/PhD preferred.
  • Experience working on complex designs with NOC (Network on chip) from Netspeed or Arteris
