Environmental Health and Safety Intern

Summer 2021 internship applications are open September 2020.  Samsung Semiconductor summer internships start in May/June 2021.

Join us for a unique 12-14 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development. You’ll work with the teams that create new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, internet of things (IoT) and edge computing that benefit millions of users.  This program will give you the opportunity work on complex solutions to that address some of the world’s most complex technological challenges.



Based in San Jose, California, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. As part of your internship at Samsung, you will be identifying, reaching out to, and connecting with new potential customers for our lineup of datacenter and enterprise SSDs.


  • EHS interns engage in variety of activities in a wide range of EHS disciplines. Under the mentorship of EHS managers, EHS interns undertake projects directed at specific topics such as safety audits, industrial hygiene, occupational ergonomics, environmental compliance, emergency response planning, EHS SharePoint management, etc. They also work closely with multiple teams to provide EHS support.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and updating essential EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Learn to identify hazardous conditions/actions within the facility and recommend corrective measures.


  • Enrolled in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving, written, and verbal communications.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies
  • Task-oriented, self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
