GNSS Measurement Engine SW Engineer

Location Cedar Rapids, IA 

This role will be focused on continually improve and expand our GNSS acquisition and tracking software

RESPONSIBLITIES
  

  • Develop, implement, and analyze GNSS signal processing algorithms within our embedded location software.
  • The algorithms may involve new / improved acquisition, tracking, impairment detection, measurement quality indicators, etc.
  • Analyze customer field reports for issues relating to acquisition, tracking, and/or measurement quality
  • Work with the Systems and ASIC teams in developing, implementing and validating new algorithms
  • Improve the efficiency of the Tracker software (reduce throughput, reduce RAM usage, more testable)

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS in Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science or similar
    • 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of GNSS signal acquisition, tracking, or measurements
    • Embedded software implementation
    • Analysis of complex software and hardware systems to determine sources of anomalies
    • C software development
    • Strong communication skills
    • Able to work with minimal supervision while working in a team atmosphere
    • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, as part of a local and globally distributed team
    • Ability to multi-task effectively under considerable pressure of deadlines and easily adapt within a fast-paced environment
    • Some domestic and international travel is necessary in order to collaborate with distributed teams and support customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science or similar
  • Experience interfacing with DSP ASIC via registers and shared memory
  • Experience writing drivers for DSP ASIC
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, numpy
  • Experience with JIRA, GIT, Gerritt, Jenkins, Autotest
  • Familiarity with development tools such as emulators, debuggers
  • Experience with GNSS signal simulators
